some random updates

My mom told me that I needed to record some of the following anecdotes in baby books, but I'm so bad about those! So I thought I'd record here for my own sake, and give the rest of you an update in the process.

Jono has started using his first name. He calls himself Nano (nah-no). Today in the car he was playing peek-a-boo with Charlie and was saying, "Where is Nano?" So adorable!

Hazel has adopted a lovey. She chose a stuffed puppy that we've had for a while. Jono was about this age when he adopted his sheep, so I was wondering if the babies would decide they needed a special friend. I was concerned that if they chose one of our existing stuffed animals that J would not understand it was "theirs" in the same way Sheep is "his". But he does. He brings Puppy to Hazel when she's sad and crying. She does the same thing for him with Sheep. It's so sweet when they show empathy for one another. Charlie is not showing any preference for a lovey. Maybe he will soon. Or maybe he'll just stick to his pacis.

Oh, that's so sweet!

I heard the following conversation from my girls recently (playing some kind of pretend game):

E - What's your name?
S - Sachi.
E - Is that S-A-C-H-I?
S - No, it's Sachi.

It is soooo sweet! I love Jono's pronunciation of his name, and playing games with Charles in the car. Precious!

I know that 3 kiddos so close in age has to be a challenge, but you are experiencing stuff that is so precious. You and Nathan were kind, loving, sweet to each other, but I don't remember either of you finding and giving loveys for comfort. That empathy at such a tender age touches my heart.

Katy, I'm laughing out loud!
