So, my kids are all too busy for photographs. I'm trying, truly. But I thought that today I'd do a play-by-play of our morning for you instead.
Everyone was up and busy by 7:30, some of them long before then. Breakfast, diapers, clothes, and we were out the door to the grocery store by 8:30.
Hazel and Charlie both skinned knees on the way to the car. This is why I keep a first aid kit under my front passenger seat.
Kroger was uneventful, on the whole. Jono stole an apple and ate it in his "car" (front of the cart). I didn't see him take it, but I did pay for it (although I'm sure it weighed a little less with some bites missing). He also shouted "Hey!" at some random stranger, but not in a friendly tone. More in a scolding tone. We do that to him. Maybe that should change.
Dumped all three in front of Sesame Street when we got home at 9:30 so I could unload groceries and put them away without drama or "help". When I was finished I put babies down for morning naps.
Jono "washed his hands" for 30 minutes while I read my email and IM'ed with Ellie. At about 10:45, I decided to start getting lunch ready so we could eat when the babies got up. This was the cause of the tantrum. Much to J's dismay, I'll let him stand on a step stool in front of the sink, but not in front of the oven so he can watch the chicken nuggets cook. Fit began.
Babies woke up. Fit continued, as J was removed from the kitchen against his will so that I could get babies out of bed in the back of the house without him burning himself on the oven, which he still desperately wanted to watch.
Babies were not happy to wake up to the racket of J throwing a tantrum, and decided that if you can't beat him, you may as well join him. 10:45 to 11:00--everyone screamed.
11:00 lunch. Relief. Chicken nuggets, pineapple, crackers and cheese.
Boys got dishonorably discharged from the table due to standing in up in their high chairs. They headed off to play. Hazel ate slowly and meticulously as usual.
After lunch, things calmed WAY down. More play time and then afternoon naps. Jonathan went down at 11:30, Hazel at 12:30, and Charlie at 1:00. I had complete peace and quiet until right now (2:30). The babies just got up, so here we go again!

Love you,
Mom
LOL Mom. And this was pretty tame. Sadly.
This is sooo the life of parenting little people... I feel like a hero when I get groceries done. Or toilets clean. Or pretty much anything, literally. Oops! Isaac just sneezed all over us both.
