inspired by Kate...

We enjoy a good episode of Jon & Kate, plus 8. It makes the chaos around here feel more normal! One of the things we find inspiring about the Gosselins is that they are committed to doing activities with their 8 small children (twins and sextuplets) even though it is crazy hard to get them organized and out the door, not to mention the craziness of the activity itself. We have decided to try to take a family outing with our three littles most weekends, in the spirit of Jon & Kate. It's hard, but good for us all.

Last weekend, we went to a new park in downtown Houston called Discovery Green. Jono played on the playground and sort-of played in the fountains. We thought he would enjoy the fountains more than he did--he was a little intimidated.

crashed out in the car on the way there

checking out the playground

tenatively playing in the water

big hugs from Mama!

Yesterday, we went to the "Tot Spot" at the Houston Children's Museum. Tot Spot is one of my favorite outings to take with Jonathan. We've been going fairly regularly since he was about 5 months old. This was his first time since he started walking, though, and he really seemed to enjoy so much more!

"Finally! Doorknobs I can reach!"

People watching is half the fun!

What Mom does while Dad chases Jono around the museum...

One of the things that I enjoyed about both trips was gear shopping. There was a Parents of Multiples group at Discovery Green, so I checked out all their cool double strollers. And I think I found the diaper bag I've been searching for on a woman at Tot Spot. She was glad to show me all of its features. Fun times.

Stay tuned for more adventures in weeks to come!

Definitely a good idea to get out of the house when you're usually stuck at home all day with babies. Looks like fun! Maybe we can try one of those places when we're visiting next week and adding to the chaos! :P

We have found outings with 3 much more doable than we thought it would be! The worst part used to be all the comments of "oh my, you must have your hands full". :)

Erin! I love reading about your outings with all three little ones!!! Very Very encouraging to me. I am so hopeful to get to keep up a semi-active life once the twins get here! Everyone is looking super cute in your pics!

John and Kate plus 8 is very inspiring! Seriously, if they can do it YOU can do it! And, why is that show addicting??? Such chaos sometimes!
