posting some of the pictures Mary Margaret took!

It's nice to have a Grandma with a camera here! The few days Mary was here were well documented, and she got some great shots! They'll be in the next several posts, as it's easier to upload them from Picassa by day. Enjoy!

I'm going to grow FOOD!

I am reading an fantastic book that I would highly recommend called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. It has inspired me to garden. And while I would love to plow under the whole back yard and try to grow a bit of everything, David has reminded me that it's best to start slow and see how it goes. So, I'm going to grow a tomato plant in a pot this summer, and scatter some bluebonnet seeds along my fence line in October. I'm so very, very excited!

my plant, a Celebrity tomato--I think I'll call her Angelina ;-)

Jono, helping me fill the pot with soil

and here she is, all settled into her new home. I'll keep you posted on her progress!

Jono was a little afraid of "Howdy"

He was very interested in the cattle in the arena...

but he LOVED playing on the tractor!

Dismounting his pony after the pony ride caused the biggest tantrum of the day, though. He was a big fan of that little brown pony.

Hopefully Mary Margaret got some good pictures of us in the petting zoo and on the rides in the kiddie section of the carnival. The carousel was a hit, but the little plastic cars that go around and around and up and down were not fun at all. I'm sure his face was priceless!

caught in the act!

at least it was something as innocent as Cheerios!
