I am reading an fantastic book that I would highly recommend called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. It has inspired me to garden. And while I would love to plow under the whole back yard and try to grow a bit of everything, David has reminded me that it's best to start slow and see how it goes. So, I'm going to grow a tomato plant in a pot this summer, and scatter some bluebonnet seeds along my fence line in October. I'm so very, very excited!
my plant, a Celebrity tomato--I think I'll call her Angelina ;-)

Jono, helping me fill the pot with soil

and here she is, all settled into her new home. I'll keep you posted on her progress!

I'm reading it too! Are you participating in Simple Mom (Tsh's) book club? If I were savvy enough to figure out how to navigate a forum, I would participate, but I've decided just to read the books on my own at whatever pace I can manage. Figuring with the late night feedings coming up in a few weeks, I should be able to make some headway. So far I'm liking this one and wishing very much I had some dirt.
Nice. My verification word is kinkie.
Of course you must name your tomato! Grow, Angelina, grow!
