Charlie
Aunt Stephanie said that this was the best picture she had seen of Charlie's face so far, and I have to agree. You can see his eyes--that's a rare treat! He's a pretty sleepy little buddy. Excuse the slumped over baby in the swing. I need to work harder at propping him up!

updates on the kiddos!
Hazel is doing so well. She is regulating her temperature and has moved to an open air crib. She is also being weaned back onto oral feeds (they took her off them when there was a concern about a possible bowel obstruction). She's handling those well, too, so it's just a matter of time! We are hopeful that she'll be gaining weight on all oral feedings and home by the end of the week. I'm torn between trying to see her and care for my other little guys. David went by himself Sunday to see her and I tried to rest at home. I'm definitely going today, though. I've been pumping for her, which makes me feel like I'm doing something, but it's still hard. I miss her.
Here's a picture that David took at NICU on Sunday...

Charlie is the sweetest thing, and is nursing like a champ. He's really laid back so far (crossing my fingers it stays that way!). I'm definitely enjoying him.
Here he is Saturday in his "coming home" outfit from the hospital.

Jono shows very little interest in Charlie, but is settling back into his routine here at home more quickly than I would have anticipated. For that, we are grateful.
Here's a picture from his visit to the hospital to see us on Friday...

Introducing the newest Wallaces
Charles William Wallace
Hazel Catherine Wallace
born 6/12/08 @ 9:08 AM
4 lbs, 4 oz
born 6/12/08 @ 9:08 AM
4 lbs, 4 oz
Mom was incredible, laboring 46 (!) hours and delivering twins without a c-section.
Hazel struggled to keep up glucose levels in the first few hours of life. She was moved to Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) Level 2 NICU (Level 3 is the scary one) late afternoon Thursday. As of mid-afternoon Friday, she is being watched because she's stopped being interested in eating. Glucose levels are looking good with nutrition coming in through an IV.
Your prayers are coveted. Pray that we can recreate this last picture sooner rather than later.

More Birthday Fun
Since Jonathan isn't walking on earth quite yet, we thought we'd give him a rare chance at a zero-g space walk for his birthday. Here he is in the airlock, preparing to depart...
And a joyous look after a successful outing!
Sorry we didn't get any pictures of the actual walk. It was dark, and the flash wasn't quite powerful enough.

Birthday Boy!
Jonathan's first birthday is the 14th, but we thought that waiting to celebrate until next week might be pushing it with the pending arrival of the babies. This morning was Jono's "birthday observed." We had a small (mostly church friends) party at the park down the street with chocolate sprinkled donuts instead of cake. We made sure it was a low maintenance, easy party to cancel at the last minute if we had needed to. ;-)
I think he had a good time! a few pictures...

"I'm not exactly sure what to do with this thing."

...he figured it out!

opening presents with David (and a friend)

and earlier this morning, checking out his birthday present from Mom and Dad. He showed absolutely no inclination to pull up on it and push it around. Eating the blocks was more fun. In time...

Happy Birthday, big boy! We love you!

We've got over 10.5 lbs of baby in there!
Can you tell?

Ultrasound today at 34 weeks, 5 days estimated that baby girl's weight is *almost* 5lbs at 4lbs, 15oz, and baby boy is weighing in at a whopping 5lbs, 11oz! That's 10lbs, 10oz of baby on board. My goal is to make it past Jono's birthday (the 14th), so we'll see if we can deliver two 6lb-ers. Wouldn't that be awesome?
How I look walking around the house (my mid-belly is very sensitive and itchy, so I pull my shirt up!): http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/ewalrus/IMG_4089.jpg
and the ever-popular lopsided belly button picture: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/ewalrus/IMG_4093.jpg
