We have crawling! (well, inch-worming)

Jono is mobile! He does a funny inchworm crawl, but it does the job. He's been perfecting his technique over the last couple of days, but now it's consistent. Sorry for the low light on this video. He was making a break for it during bedtime routine. There's a spring on his crib that he finds absoutely irresitible. This weekend's project? Babyproofing!

update on the twins after my OB appointement today!

Things are looking *much* better! We're so relieved. The little spot that we'd been watching that showed some bleeding near Yoho's placenta has significantly decreased in size. I haven't had any spotting in about a week and a half, and my OB thinks we're headed in the right direction.

The babies look good. They had lots of performing to do on ultrasound as usual. Banff was particularly interested in her hands today. She kept putting them in her mouth. A thumb sucker, perhaps? They both measure right where they should be, with Yoho being just a little bit bigger.

So, good news. Join us in praying that things continue to improve!

kiddie bathroom re-model!

David and our friend Michael painted the guest bathroom red last weeked. We added a rubber duckie motif, and the kiddie bathroom was born! I'm really pleased with the way it came out!

It's hard to tell in the picture (you can click to make it bigger), but the shower curtain is white with yellow duckies. I'm especially proud of the towel hooks. I cut some slits in the bottom of rubber duckies and impaled them on the top of plain silver hooks. tee hee

poor little dude...

Jono has his first major cold, complete with green snot and an angry baby when I try to wipe it off. I guess I should be happy that he made it to 7 months old without one, huh?

any bets?

Jono's trick of the week is rocking on hands and knees. Any bets on when he'll figure out how to move forward? Yikes!

pregnancy complications. sigh.

I was seen by my OB again this morning due to more spotting. Our 3D ultrasound last week found the reason that I had spotted the week between Christmas and New Year's, but we thought it was all resolved. Apparently not.

Yoho's placenta is low lying (near, but not over my cervix). As my uterus grows, the placenta is moving up and away from my cervix, which is good. A small edge of his placenta, however, has detached from the uterine wall (not enough to affect his nutrition--he's bigger than his sister!). This is what caused the bleeding earlier in the month, but since it had stopped, my OB was hopeful that it was stable and wouldn't cause any more problems. It appears there may still be some bleeding from that site, though.

Dr. Dryden is concerned but not panicked, is watching me very closely, and has told me to stay off my feet and rest as much as possible. If the separation grows, it could get bad. If things stay the same, there is no reason to expect long-term complications. Today was taken with naps and phone calls to get some help with Jono. Your prayers for all bleeding to stop completely and permanently would be appreciated.

We'll keep you posted.
